This study examines the link between the ambition and implementation of the EU Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and the National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) specifically examining their impact on national climate action and how this translates into local climate projects in Germany and France.

The full report was officially launched at a webinar held on 15 May 2024.

The study was commissioned to Forum Ökologisch-Soziale Marktwirtschaft (FÖS) as part of the NDC Transparency Initiative, a joint project of CIDSE and its member organisations, Fastenaktion and Misereor, and in partnership with BUND. It is based on the NDC Transparency Meta-study by Paula Castro & Aksornchan Chaianong published in 2023.
